A Practical Overview of Data Analytics

Tuesday, November 6, 2018 -
17:30 to 20:00

Information is the cornerstone that drives business decisions. Having good, reliable, understandable and timely information available will enable better informed decisions. Without the proper information, organizations can find themselves struggling to know the best course of action.

This presentation will provide a view to the evolution of Data Analytics from the 20th century forward to the advent of "Big Data". We will contrast opportunities and applications in manufacturing, logistics, retail and government from Basic Applications to Statistical Process Control through Data Science applications.

The presentation will also illustrate real-life projects to implement such programs over the presenter's 30+ years of private and public-sector experience.

Learning Objectives:

  • What is data analytics
  • How can it be tailored based on the target domain
  • How can it be applied
