Stressing the Importance of Understanding Stress

Tuesday, June 6, 2017 -
05:30 to 08:00
$0.00

As project professionals, our jobs often put us in the middle. It can be a daily challenge of multiple projects, ambiguous assignments, conflicting priorities, aggressive deadlines, and unreasonable people. We are expected to make everyone else happy, sometimes at our expense. No matter how successful we are, we get stressed.

But stress can be found outside of the work environment too. Normal, everyday life events can bring about stress: marriage, children, health, finances, etc. Simply trying to bottle it up may result in a pressure cooker getting ready to explode.

Angela Sheehan is a mental health nurse practitioner who understands what stress is, what contributes to it, what it can do to a person, and most importantly, how to recognize and manage it.

Learning Objectives:

  • Gain a better understanding of stress and its causes.
  • Better recognize how stress can affect people.
  • Learn self-care methods to help reduce stress
