Join us for ABADD 2024. This year we will have 7 presenters and will once again have an in-person option. Webex will still be available for those who cannot make it to Albany.
"Establishing common understanding"
Providing a solution requires the entire team to have a shared understanding. An understanding that includes want was requested, what is actually needed, and what will be delivered. Many projects are considered a failure not because the solution was bad, but due to expectations not being aligned.
Project Managers and Business Analysis play a critical role in managing and aligning expectations. This is not a trivial task. Starting with scope and goals, continuing with workflows and requirements, to test scenarios and rollout, there are plenty of opportunities for confusion to be introduced. Constant and consistent communication is key to fighting back this confusion.
This year's event will focus on improving the skills needed to contribute to a project success. Skills for working with the project sponsors to establish clear, obtainable goals, skill for eliciting requirements from subject matter experts, skills for preparing models and presenting them to the team, and skills for supporting the technical teams as they prepare the solution to be delivered. And the underlying soft skills that tie everything together: communication and leadership.
This will be a hybrid event. You can attend either virtually via Webex, or in person at the NYS Forum's office, located at 24 Aviation Road, Suite 206, Albany, NY 12205.
