We ask questions to get to the good, informative, insightful answers. Asking good questions is a top key business analyst skill.
 
First, we must ask for context: why are we asking it – to discover, to clarify, and to elaborate. Many strategic conversations start with a question – What happened? What is happening? What do you want to happen?
 
We respect to the art of conversation – the art of productive dialogue with impactful and powerful inquiries. Let’s explore the art of asking questions and then remember the important of listening - in order to ask the next question (not just waiting to respond) or start a new line of questioning. We get a limited amount of time to ask questions and have a thoughtful discussion. Let’s dive in to ask better questions before time runs out. Let the thrill of curiosity lead you to asking your best questions yet. We'll have some interactive activities to practice our question techniques and discuss what we learn.

MINDY BOHANNON, CBAP
Mindy thrives as an Agile Business Analyst and CBAP. She relishes solving business problems, developing solutions that drive the business forward, and relating to others with humanity, trust, and collaboration during the process. Mindy has been a BA longer than she was a database developer, is a part-time scrummaster and has most recently worked on application modernization and data science projects.
 
Mindy has spoken on analyst and professional development topics at many local and national conferences over the years. Equally, she encourages others to share their knowledge as the President at her local IIBA DC chapter.
