Lessons Learned from Disaster

Tuesday, April 4, 2023 -
18:00 to 19:30

Some changes come to us gently, others hit us over the head. Charlene Huggard will review two disasters and the resulting response/impact.

September 11, 2001. COVID. One "single event" and one event that has morphed into a long-term societal change. What do these two seemingly unrelated things have in common? They each required a disaster response in New York State.

During this presentation Charlene Huggard will share the "behind the scenes" of the response to these events from a business analyst who helped New York State recover from both, and the lessons learned from each.

Learning Objectives

  • Understand the impact of disasters on a state level,
  • How business analysis is critical in disaster recovery,

Event Details:
Attend either In-Person or Virtually Webex information will be distributed to those who registered by 9am the Monday before the event. One of the chapter's greatest benefits is allowing you to build connections with other business analysts. Understandably, this has suffered over the past two years. Our resolution for 2023 is to rebuild the in-person presence for our meetings. Board members will be present at the NYS Forum offices. We hope and encourage you to join us! The Forum's office will be open at 5:30 pm and food will be available.
